Round Reinforcing Bars (above left) are installed in wood sashes. All reinforcing must engage the sash or frame to support the window. The window panel (center) is installed in the sash from the exterior side. Previously soldered tie wires (right) are twisted around Reinforcing Bars, cut and tucked in. This system allows window panels to be easily removed in the event maintenance or repairs are required, and provides optimum support for the window panel.
Several Round Reinforcing Bars (above left) were prefabricated to circumvent prominent areas in these windows as seen in the photograph (right).
Structural T-bars (arrow) are installed to support and reinforce individual panels in larger windows. Copper Evaporation Trays (right) collect condensation that may form on windows and stain woodwork.
